Workshops & Taster Sessions

We have now started to run workshops and taster sessions from our Studio in Portchester, Hampshire!

Whether you are simply interested in seeing how the process works, looking at trying your hand at something new or just want to meet up with friends over something other than drinks, we have an option for you…

Our studio accommodates up to 4 people but we can arrange sessions in alternative locations to cater for slightly larger numbers if required.

Full Day Suncatcher Workshop

£75 per person

Unlock your inner artist and dive into the captivating world of stained glass with this stained glass taster session!

  • Use craft glass and solder to create a beautiful suncatcher

  • Learn the iconic copper foil “Tiffany” technique

  • Receive personalized guidance to craft your own one-of-a-kind piece of art

This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners looking to explore a new artistic medium or those simply seeking a relaxing creative outlet. Unleash your inner creativity and leave with your very own handmade suncatcher that will brighten up any space.

We aim to provide an enjoyable and informative day, perfect for special occasions, something different to do as a celebration or simply just to enjoy the company of friends or relatives in a different setting.

Taster Session includes:

  • 5 hours tuition, demonstrations and guidance taking you through the process of the copper foil stained glass technique

  • All materials, use of tools and safety equipment required to produce your piece

  • A wide range of glass colours and textures to enable you to make a piece unique to you!

  • Refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits)

Please bring a packed lunch.

The day will usually start at 10am and finish around 4pm but times can be arranged as required.

Seasonal Decoration Taster Session

£50 per person

Perfect for a different and fun evening or afternoon with friends, this 3 hour taster session takes you through the copper foil processes to make your own decoration to take home on the day.

Pre-cut glass will be provided however those who wish to can try their hand at cutting glass shapes out for themselves time constraints allowing.

Various themes are available including Valentines, Easter, Halloween and of course Christmas!

Taster Session includes:

  • 3 hours tuition, demonstrations and guidance taking you through the process of the copper foil stained glass technique

  • All materials, use of tools and safety equipment required to produce your piece

  • A range of glass colours and textures to enable you to make a piece unique to you!

  • Refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits)

Generally the sessions are afternoon or evening but are flexible and arranged on request.

Up To You! Tailored Workshops

Wanting something more specific or a series of sessions to hone your skills? We are more than happy to discuss and work with you to develop a course to suit!

We are also happy to travel to you to provide tuition. This also allows us to include more students dependent on the venue. Again, please feel free to discuss your requirements with us and we can create tailored sessions to accomodate.

Workshops involve cutting glass and using a high temperature soldering iron to melt solder. Safety equipment and advice is provided but obviously a sensible amount of caution is recommended! We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and closed shoes.

All ages are welcome from 16 onwards.

As the process includes working with a lead-mix solder, the workshops are not recommended for pregnant women.

We limit numbers to 4 people per session at our studio which enables us to provide a high level of support for each student as required.

Terms and Conditions:

  • The session date is provisional until full payment or specified deposit (dependent on how far in advance booked) is provided to secure the booking.

  • If we are unable to run the workshop for health or other issues, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer a full refund or re-book for a mutually agreed date.

  • If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to agree an alternative session date with you. Cancellations within 24hrs notice of the session will be subject to a charge of 50% of the session fee. Cancellations within 5 working days notice of the session will be subject to a charge of 25% of the session fee. In these cases, the fee amount already paid will be refunded minus the appropriate cancellation charge within 5 working days of confirmation of the bank account the refund needs to be paid into.
